Short bio

Cătălina Ioana Toader is a research assistant within the Department of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), and a PhD candidate in the Doctoral School of Finance. Her doctoral research focuses on forecasting and evaluating medium- and long-term risks associated with enterprises. Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking and a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance, both obtained from FABBV – ASE Bucharest. She has also completed the psycho-pedagogical training program (levels I and II), aimed at enhancing her teaching competencies. Her research interests include corporate finance, investments, company and risk valuation, financial markets, and taxation. She is an active member of the Financial and Monetary Research Center (CEFIMO) and is involved in research projects within ASE. Her academic work reflects her focus on risk analysis, investment decisions and the valuation of publicly listed companies. Her teaching activity takes place within two faculties of ASE: the Faculty of Finance and Banking and the Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems. Her professional experience includes relevant roles in the banking sector, having worked since 2020 at BRD Groupe Société Générale – Securities Division, in positions such as issuer analyst and product and service administrator for issuers. This experience provided her with an in-depth understanding of financial markets and investment mechanisms, essential for her academic and research activities. Her extracurricular involvement and academic engagement are also notable. She has served as a student representative in the ASE University Senate and the Faculty Council, actively participating in academic committees (scholarships, accommodation, admission). Currently, she is the president of the Association of Finance Students – ASFIN, promoting youth engagement in professional and social development projects. She is also involved in international academic and professional activities, coordinating summer schools such as the Bucharest Summer University (BSU) since 2022, participating in national and international conferences, and collaborating with professionals through academic mentoring. Through participation in academic events and international programs, she has had the opportunity to collaborate with faculty members, researchers, and professionals in the financial field, actively contributing to the academic community.
