Dean’s message

The Faculty of Finance and Banking (FABBV), part of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, is a prestigious institutional structure of education and research that contributes to the formation of elites in the fields of finance and banking, insurance and capital markets. It represents a serious choice for any candidate from Romania, the European Union and other countries around the world. Graduates of our study programs (bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral) hold key positions at the decision-making and implementation level of national and international economic programs.

The Faculty has initiated and developed partnership programs with major entities in Romania and abroad, including the National Bank of Romania, the Ministry of Finance, the Financial Supervisory Authority, the European Banking Institute, companies in the field of fiscal consulting: EY Romania, PwC Romania, Deloitte Romania, KPMG Romania, Forvis Mazars, Viboal-Findex; companies in the insurance industry: Asirom, Otto Broker; companies in the capital markets field: Prime Transaction, Tradeville; banks within the national banking system: UniCredit Bank, Banca Transilvania, Raiffeisen Bank — thus maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship with state institutions and the business community. This has led to the raising of standards of excellence in education and research, both theoretically and practically, with academic requirements connected in multiple ways to the expectations of the labor market.

The study programs and research projects of the faculty are based on a harmonious blend of classical and contemporary methods, making full use of innovative strategies and the latest research findings in the field of information technology (including Artificial Intelligence). Throughout their university studies, students learn to develop their critical-constructive thinking in the financial field and acquire, with the support of academic staff, knowledge across most branches of economics as well as related disciplines, which can help them form a broad perspective — at both micro- and macroeconomic levels — of the entire global financial system and of the socio-economic phenomenon.

Within the FABBV community, the principles of the ASE Charter are supported and applied, university ethics are respected, and a high standard of conduct is promoted, both in the teaching-learning process and in research. In this context, the partnership between students, academic staff and support staff takes place within an organizational culture with broad community support.

The Faculty offers students ERASMUS study and placement grants, providing an opportunity to develop a vast horizon of knowledge and action, which will serve career development and foster a spirit of excellence.

On behalf of the management team, I invite all members of the Faculty of Finance and Banking community to support our endeavors, which aim at both individual professional development and the continuous enhancement of the faculty’s prestige.
