
Bogdan-Andrei Dumitrescu is an Associate Professor within the Department of Money and Banking, where he has been active since 2006. He graduated from the Faculty of Finance, Insurance, Banking, and Stock Exchange in 2005 as valedictorian and completed the DOFIN master’s program in 2007 within the same faculty. He earned his PhD in Finance from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE) in 2012, with the thesis titled “Nominal and Real Convergence of the Romanian Economy in the Context of Integration into the Economic and Monetary Union.” In 2015, he completed a postdoctoral program at the Romanian Academy. He has participated in 11 professional training programs at the Joint Vienna Institute in the fields of macroeconomic policies, public finance, and financial markets. He has held various academic positions at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, working in the Department of Money and Banking, and served as Vice Dean of the Bucharest Business School, where he coordinated the academic activities of the MBA programs. Currently, he teaches courses and seminars in Credit Institutions and Banking Management at the undergraduate level, as well as Financial and Monetary Macroeconomics at the master’s level. Between 2011 and 2023, he worked within the Technical Secretariat of the Fiscal Council as an expert, and subsequently as Head of Staff and Director, providing support to the Council members in drafting opinions and reports on public finance and coordinating the technical staff.
