Biography – Florin Andrei, EMBA, PhD (English Version) Florin Andrei is a university lecturer and financial-banking professional with more than seventeen years of experience in risk management, internal audit, internal control, compliance, and ESG governance. His work integrates academic rigor with executive expertise, contributing both to the education of new generations of students and to the strengthening of risk, governance, and sustainability practices within leading financial institutions. He graduated from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, where he completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Finance, followed by a PhD within the Faculty of Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Exchanges. He also holds an Executive MBA and is certified as an Internal Auditor (CAFR/ASPAAS) and as a professional accountant (CECCAR). His continuous development includes international programs in leadership, strategic management, risk analysis, and banking regulation. His research interests focus on financial markets, financial stability, risk management in banking institutions, monetary policy transmission mechanisms, corporate sustainability, and the integration of ESG factors in the financial sector. His academic work includes empirical analyses on the impact of monetary policy on credit growth, systemic risks, the behavior of financial institutions during periods of volatility, and developments in the European regulatory framework. Within the Faculty of Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Exchanges, Florin Andrei teaches undergraduate and distance-learning courses such as: Money and Monetary Economics – covering topics like the money supply, exchange rates, monetary policy, inflation, and monetary multipliers; Credit Institutions – focusing on the functioning of the banking system, lending, governance, and prudential regulation. His teaching approach incorporates debates, international case studies, and modern analytical tools, placing strong emphasis on the link between theory and financial practice. In the corporate sector, Florin Andrei has held senior management roles in major financial institutions, with responsibilities in risk management, internal audit and governance, internal control and SOX implementation, ESG governance and sustainability, and business continuity management. He serves as a member of Audit Committees and Boards of Directors, contributing to the oversight of governance frameworks, prudential reporting, and internal control systems.
