
Laura Obreja Brașoveanu is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Finance, Insurance, Banking and Stock Exchange (Bucharest University of Economic Studies – ASE), where she has been active since 1997. Since 2021, she has also been accredited as a PhD Supervisor in the field of Finance. Education and Academic Training She graduated from the Faculty of Finance, Insurance, Banking and Stock Exchange (FABBV), Bachelor’s program (1993–1997), and completed the DOFIN Master’s program in Financial and Currency Markets (1997–1998). She earned her PhD in Finance in 2007 and has held the title of Professor since 2009. In 2009, she also completed the EDURES Master’s program in English Language Education and Research Communication for Business and Economics. She has received numerous scholarships and participated in international academic training programs at prestigious institutions. In 2013, she completed her postdoctoral research on “Adjusting fiscal and public spending policies to stimulate economic growth”, within the POSDRU project “Performance and Excellence in Postdoctoral Research in Economic Sciences in Romania.” She also completed recent training courses in digitalization and data analysis. Research Interests Her main research areas include: • fiscal policies and adjustments, • sustainable economic growth, • financial markets and investor behavior, • company valuation and financial management, • determinants of corporate performance. She has been involved as project director or team member in various national and international research projects, funded by CNCSIS, POSDRU, and CEEX. Courses Taught • Capital budgeting • Corporate finance • Financial Analysis • Financial Macroeconomics • Financial Markets Publications She has a strong academic publication record, including: • over 11 specialized books, including volumes from the Corporate Finance and Financial Management series; • over 50 scientific articles published in prestigious academic journals, many of which are indexed in international databases; • active participation in numerous international conferences in countries such as the USA, Canada, Switzerland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and Romania. Other Professional Activities She is a founding member and Board Member of ROFIBA – the Romanian Association of Finance and Banking, as well as a member of CEFIMO – the Center for Financial and Monetary Research. Between 2015 and 2017, she was a certified business evaluator with ANEVAR. Professor Obreja Brașoveanu also serves as co-editor and scientific reviewer for several leading academic journals. She has contributed to the organization of numerous scientific conferences and workshops and is actively involved in doctoral committees and European-funded academic development projects.
