
Laura-Elly Naghi is an Associate Professor at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Finance, Insurance, Banking and Stock Exchange. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, two Master’s degrees (Business Administration and Actuarial Techniques), and a PhD in Economics, specialization Finance–Insurance. She continued her academic development with a postdoctoral program in Finance–Insurance, focusing on “Operational Risk Management in Insurance” (2014–2015). Her research interests include risk management in insurance and financial services, actuarial science and stochastic modelling, operational risks, insurance products and markets, financial education, and financial regulation. She has published articles in academic journals, book chapters and studies, as well as papers presented at national and international conferences, mainly addressing topics related to insurance risks, the development of financial services markets and financial innovation. In her teaching activity, she delivers seminars and tutorials in subjects such as Insurance Institutions and Products, Finance, and Corporate Financial Management, at both Bachelor’s and Master’s level. Her academic activity is complemented by a strong involvement in the professional environment: coordinating financial education and professional training programs in the financial services industry, managing national and international projects, providing consultancy for SMEs and financial institutions, and participating in editorial boards and scientific councils of specialized journals (“Revista de Studii Financiare”, “Review of Finance and Banking”), as well as in scientific committees of professional conferences. She holds numerous national and international certifications in insurance, financial services, risk management, trainer training, competence assessment and project management, thus consolidating a professional profile that combines academic research, teaching, and active engagement with the financial industry.
