Short bio

Nicoleta VINTILĂ is an Associate Professor within the Department of Finance at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (BUES). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance (Faculty of Finance and Banking – FABBV, BUES, 1998), a Master’s degree in Financial and Monetary Policies and Strategies (DOFIN, 1999), and a PhD in Economics, with a specialization in Finance (2008). Her doctoral dissertation focused on the evaluation of direct investment projects under uncertainty. She has been affiliated with the Financial and Monetary Research Center (CEFIMO) since 2002. Her professional affiliations include membership in IFA Romania (Romanian branch of the International Fiscal Association, 2009–2012) and ROFIBA (Romanian Association of Finance and Banking), where she has been an active member since 2012. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of ROFIBA for the 2020–2024 term and holds the position of Vice President for the 2024–2028 term. She is also a member of the Ethics Committee of Bucharest University of Economic Studies, representing the Faculty of Finance and Banking for the 2024–2028 term, and has been a member of the Faculty Council of FABBV since 2020. Her teaching portfolio includes courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, such as: Taxation, Personal Finance, Corporate Income Taxation, Personal Income Taxation, Direct Investments and Financing, Strategic Financial Management, Scientific Seminar, and Ethics and Academic Integrity. She has participated in several research projects addressing topics such as: the development of a conceptual framework for the digitalization of the national tax system (2024), the simplification of tax assessment and reporting mechanisms to enhance tax revenue collection (2023), financial literacy, risk aversion, and participation in Romania’s capital market (2019), analysis of conditionality, impact and implementation results in taxation area for EU Financial Assistance programs for Romania (2014), the improvement of indicator systems used in the evaluation of direct investment projects (2009–2011). She is also involved in professional training and continuing education, serving as an author of tuition materials and trainer for BPP Romania (a subsidiary of BPP UK), delivering ACCA exam preparation courses in the area of taxation, as well as training programs in financial analysis, finance for non-finance professionals, and related fields. She has also conducted professional development sessions on taxation for both corporate and public sector entities. Additionally, she has served as an expert in the implementation of EU-funded projects aimed at student internships, vocational and career counseling, and business simulation activities, targeting students from the Faculty of Finance and Banking (FABBV). She is the sole author or co-author of several academic books and scholarly articles in the fields of Taxation, Corporate finance, and Personal finance. Her primary research interests include taxation and fiscal policy, corporate finance and financial management, the evaluation of direct investment projects, and personal finance.
